Overnight Oats

At it’s core, Whey Box is about making your life more convenient. We know that it’s not always easy to make and eat a big omelette first thing on a morning! So, for a swift and satisfying solution to breakfast – try making your own overnight oats!

This concept can be adapted in any number of ways to suit your tastes and preferences. It’s based on mixing oats, milk (we prefer the various Alpro milks available, as they’re easier to digest than cow’s milk) and fruit or other goodness-filled treats for garnishing with flavour.

Simply mix the ingredients together in a bowl or container (enough milk to cover all of the ingredients) and leave in the fridge overnight. By the morning, the oats will have absorbed the milk leaving you with a creamy and dense breakfast that tastes delicious! You can even use frozen fruit as it will thaw overnight and be ready to eat in the morning.

To boost your protein intake, just add a sachet of Whey Box protein – one sachet is the perfect amount to mix with 200-250ml of milk before you add it to the pot.

With milk and oats as your base ingredients, these are some of our favourite combinations:

Peanut butter, chia seeds, cookies and cream protein (topped with almonds and cranberries) for lots of fibre and healthy fats to keep you full until lunch. See the pictures below!

Strawberries, blueberries, vanilla protein and a dash of cinnamon for a refreshing, fruity antioxidant pick-me-up.

Pineapple, mango and coconut protein for a more exotic, ‘holiday-feeling’ themed breakfast.

Chocolate protein, cocoa powder and coffee extract for a mocha inspired morning treat.

Find yourself rushing in the morning? Try making this in a travel mug, NutriBullet beaker or similar container with a sealing lid – you can throw it in your bag and have it on the train on the way to work, at your desk or as a recovery meal after your morning workout – don’t forget your spoon!
